Artist Statement

Alexandra Ghimisi is a Romanian-born contemporary painter based in the UK. A graduate of the National University of Arts Bucharest with a BA in Decorative Arts, she evokes emotion in each stroke through colour and texture. A member of the National Acrylic Painters' Association and Visual Artists Association, she won the 2024 Holbrooke Art Prize, with her work featured in collections across Europe.

Her artistic practice focuses on the connection between nature's cycles and human emotions, exploring how the changing seasons influence our perceptions of colour, mood, and time.
Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Alexandra uses a semi-abstract style to interpret nature's transformations, capturing its energy and constant flux.
