For those who may be interested this project was conceived in Majorca whilst on an enjoyable holiday in 2006 with my Father, Peter Gregg, an NSA Council member. I think he plied me with Sangria then asked if I might consider developing a website for the Society – and here is the result!

For those technically minded…

The superb Content Management System that I use is called Textpattern and is Open Source being supported by a dedicated community of volunteers. It runs under PHP and MySQL.

Our artsists’ photos are hosted in on Flickr and the uses a Textpattern Open Source Plug-in called vdh_flickr that does the clever stuff such as connecting to Flickr and presenting the thumbnails and slideshow.

The ‘theme’ of the site (ie. the colours, text and general style) was from an idea by Phu who made it available via the Open Source Web Design community.

I hope you like the website. It’s just my way of helping the community!
