Ken Holt – President and also secretary of the Friday session Art in the Afteroon has recently run a three week session on the work of Nicolas de Stael. This was an artist who had a relatively short life, born in St Petersburg 1914 he was, at the age of two, a page to Tsar Nicolas II. His life in Russia ended by the Revolution when he moved to Europe, mainly Belgium and France.
Here are some pictures in his style interpreted by a few of the Friday artists.
