Dear fellow artists,
I have been researching the possibility of sending paintings to the various open exhibitions. This can be difficult, especially in London, where delivery and pick up times make it a very expensive and time consuming venture, to say nothing of the difficulty of carrying the paintings. I felt sure that, as a society, we could muster enough support.
Please email me if you are interested in principle. I have managed to negotiate the following:

Option 1.
For 20+ pictures we would collect at a single address in Nottingham

The fees (nominally) to the Mall Galleries are as follows:-
Picture Post will receive your work, transport to London and hand In unwrapped, together with entry form & fee, on the due day for the following prices:- Per artist
The first picture or piece £13.10
Each additional piece £11.00
For each piece exceeding 1 metre longest side including frame, add £6.90.
Unwrapped work will be packed in blankets for the journey.
Add VAT to all of the above
(Artwork may be wrapped, preferably in bubble wrap with one open edge.)

Option 2.
Hire of a van and man for one journet would be £196. inc. VAT. We could fill the van with as many paintings as needed. It all depends on quantity.

NB – If anyone has other ideas on the subject or a list of hand in days for suitable exhibitions, please let me know.
