NSA Social Events
We hope that you are all aware of our attempts to form a social committee. We did have a social secretary for many years, but now, sadly some of us are afflicted by “anno domini” and there is a need for the burden to be shared.
We had some remarkable events in the past: parties, forums, painting trips abroad to Venice, Italy, Amsterdam and many more.
One of our memorable trips was to Paris to see the Barns Collection at the Musee D’Orsay.
As on many other occasions we took a scheduled trip with Skills Coaches. This proved to be remarkably successful. We travelled by coach and Eurostar to La Defense, Paris and the Hotel Ibis – 3 stops on the Metro from the centre of Paris.
A very obliging driver drove us to the Quai D’Orsay before taking the rest of the party to Disneyland.
We had a remarkably good weekend of Art and sightseeing and a good bistro each evening – all for less than £100 per person including B & B ensuite.
I can see no reason why we should not continue to enjoy such events. It is just a matter of getting organised.
Val Palmer.
(One-time Social Secretary)
